Frequently asked questions

  • WILL MY CERTIFIED TRANSLATION BE VALID FOR OFFICIAL SUBMISSION IN SWITZERLAND?

The certified and/or notarised translations we produce for you are valid throughout Switzerland and in most European countries. We can also provide you with the associated international apostille required by signatory countries to the Hague Conference on Private International Law (HCCL). This convention has been adopted by 82 countries to date, and you can find a comprehensive and up-to-date list of them here.

Legalisations for countries that are not party to the HCCL must undergo a separate review process, which typically involves the State/Federal Chancelleries, as appropriate, and the diplomatic representation of the country where the translation will be used. For more information, see our certified translations page or contact us.

  • HOW DO YOU QUOTE FOR A TRANSLATION PROJECT?

We use three key variables when we prepare a translation quotation for you: the number of words or lines in the document, the complexity of its content, and the deadline you need to work to. An additional charge applies for certified and apostilled documents, which is typically a fixed, per-document fee.

For an accurate, no obligation quotation, please use our contact page to send us a copy of the document(s) you need to translate. At this stage, ensure you send only a copy of the document, not your original.

  • HOW DO YOU QUOTE FOR A MULTILINGUAL PUBLISHING PROJECT?

Projects involving work other than text translation, proofreading or editing are quoted on a project or time basis. Examples of this kind of project work are: graphic design, work on document layouts and formatting, the printing of images and typesetting, and the translation of software, web content and audio or video scripts.

  • WILL MY DOCUMENTS BE HANDLED CONFIDENTIALLY?

Absolutely. Confidentiality is core to our work. All documents supplied to obtain a quotation for a translation project are held on our own secure servers, and are never shared with third parties, except for the sole purpose of providing a service you have request from us. Should you require it, we’ll be happy to sign a non-disclosure agreement to give you additional peace of mind.

You can find more information in our Privacy Policy.

  • WHICH PAYMENT METHODS DO YOU ACCEPT?

We accept payment by electronic bank transfer, credit and debit cards, TWINT and PayPal. We can charge and take payments in Swiss Francs (CHF), Euros (EUR) and US dollars (USD).

These are the payment methods that we currently accept: Visa/Visa Electron, V-Pay, Mastercard, Maestro, Diners Club/Discover, UnionPay, TWINT and PayPal.

  • HOW DO YOU DELIVER YOUR TRANSLATED DOCUMENTS?

Certified translations are delivered by priority post in Switzerland or worldwide. If you require, an electronically certified version provided with an electronic certification code (ECC) can also be delivered via email .

All other translation or graphic composition deliverables are supplied via email, unless otherwise requested to us. Print-outs of reports and visuals are dispatched by priority post in Switzerland or world-wide.

  • DO YOU PROVIDE INTERPRETING SERVICES?

Interpreting is not currently part of our core offering. However, for some language pairs—especially those involving the official languages of international organisations based in Geneva, we operate interpreting agreements with selected partners.

Please contact us if you have a specific query about interpreting services. We will be happy to help.
